Walled Lake Central:
Nate Ohlrich - 12th Grade
Sport/Position: Varsity Soccer - Midfielder
Accomplishments: Nate is a great student with a GPA over 3.75. Is respectful, responsible, & the ultimate team player. As we've made our playoff push, Nate's minutes have declined, but at no point has that impacted Nate's attitude. He continues to work hard, encourage his teammates, and be a positive force.
Quote from Coach: "It is an honor to have Nate represent Central Soccer and I couldn't be more proud of the young man he has become over the past four years," said Coach Joel Sharpe.
Haley Chinarian - 12th Grade
Sport/Position: Girls Cross Country
Accomplishments: Haley set a new school record in the 5K this season, a record that has stood for over 20 years. She is an All-County Runner and finished in the top 20 at the Regional last week.
Quote from Coach: "She transformed herself from an average runner to one of the top runners in the area through her hard work and perseverance," said Coach Andrew Teberian.
Other Interesting Facts: She is an outstanding bowler.
Hannah Douglas - September 2017
Sammy Osipov - September 2017
Walled Lake Northern:
Nathanial Corcoran-Miller - 12th Grade
Sport/Position: Boys Cross Country - Team Captain
Accomplishments: Lakes Valley Conference All Conference. MHSAA Region 7-1 All Region, MHSAA State Finals Qualifier, Team Captain 2 years.
Quote from Coach: "Nate has been extremely focused and dedicated since last season. Not only has he taken responsibility for his own discipline toward success, but he has provided a great example to the younger athletes that hard work really does pay off," said Coach Jeff McNeil.
Other Interesting Facts: Nate has worked his way up through the years, beginning as a JV athlete his first year, to the top athlete his final year. He has been a team captain for 2 years. Nate also runs Track & Field at Northern.
Hannah Brown - 11th Grade
Sport/Position: Varsity Swimming
Accomplishments: She broke the team record at Oakland Counties in the 100 Breast Stroke and qualified for state meet in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Medley Relay
Quote from Coach: "Hannah worked very hard in the off season to come into our season ready to make some statements. She had a tremendous Oakland county meet and we look forward to her end of season at state meet," said Coach Jessica Stoddard.
Other Interesting Facts: Hannah has gone to states all 3 years she has been on our team and broken the team record in the 100 breast stroke each year. She is also the team record holder in the 200 medley relay.
Maddy Hager - September 2017
Carson Haslinger - September 2017
Walled Lake Western:
Justin Thomas - 12th Grade
Sport/Position: Varsity Football - Wide Reciever
Accomplishments: He broke four school records for touchdowns receiving in a game, season, and career.
Quote from Coach: "He ended up being one of hte best receivers to ever play at Western," said Coach Mike Zdebski.
Other Interesting Facts: He has preferred walk on offers at the University of Indiana and Western Michigan University.
Jessica Rottner - 11th Grade
Sport/Position: Varsity Volleyball - Defensive Specialist
Accomplishments: She came up to varsity to finish the season out after playing on JV all year. She didn't get much playing time but is at every practice, team bonding, and fundraiser. She always cheers on her team in practice and matches and is always willing to help other players when possible.
Quote from Coach: "Jessica embodies what it means to be a team player. She is always positive, helpful, and eager to perform any task her team needs of her," said Coach Shannon Braun.
Other Interesting Facts: Jessica was a starting libero for her JV team before being brought up to Varsity.
