Continuity of Learning

WLCSD Continuity of Learning Plan

Together we will continue learning and take care of Every Child, Every Day!

SAFETY First!
The safety of the entire Walled Lake Schools educational community has been a priority since prior to March 13 when we were ordered to close school.

Learning Expectations:
From the first day of closure, Walled Lake Schools communicated parent and student expectations. Immediately, the District offered professional development to our teachers on the Google Classroom, issued more than 1, 200 Chromebooks, mobilized a food distribution program, and our teachers and staff launched virtual learning for our students. Walled Lake Schools did this because we live the Every Child, Every Day mantra. On April 2, the Governor ordered school closed for the remainder of the year and asked district to devise a Continuity of Learning Plan.

Social Emotional Supports

While these are very difficult times that are definitely unforeseen by anyone, we remain concerned about the emotional well-being of our students, staff and community. Walled Lake Schools gathered and reviewed each of these sites that offer amazing resources for this trying time. Thank you for using these resources to help children and adults.

Communications

From the first day of closure, Walled Lake Schools communicated on a daily basis, what parents could expect. Immediately, the District offered professional development to our teachers on the Google Classroom, issued more than 1, 200 Chromebooks, mobilized a food distribution program, and our teachers and staff continued learning albeit virtually for our students.

Communication is a priority in Walled Lake Schools.
