Logging Onto a Personal Chromebook

If the student has been logging on to the Chromebook with a personal Gmail account, that is totally fine. You will want them to ADD USER on their Chromebook so they can have a home and school account. To do that:

  1. Log off the machine
  2. Click the +Add User button at the bottom left of the screen
  3. Log on with Google account

Connecting to the WLCSD Wireless Internet on a Chromebook

Click the wireless icon at the bottom right of their screen and choose WLCS-Monitored

A pop up will appear in the browser to log in. Students will use their network login (Tell them this is what they would use if they were logging on to a computer lab in elementary)

Logging onto a Personal Laptop

The student will log on however he/she has been doing at home. 

Connecting to the WLCS-Monitored wireless on a Laptop

  1. To access the wireless icon: (Windows 7), click on the wireless icon on bottom right of their screen, (Windows 8) swipe mouse all the way to the right OR (Windows 8 touch screen) swipe from the right to reveal and click on Settings and then Available (they are both icons, but when you hover they show the words)
  2. Choose WLCS-Monitored, click the box that says “Connect Automatically” and then Connect.
  3. Login browser will pop up and they will use their network login (Tell them this is what they would use if they were logging on to a computer lab in elementary)

Logging onto WLCSD Google Account on a laptop:

  1. Open Chrome browser and go to www.google.com Log on to Google account. (If they do not have Chrome on their machine they should download it).
  2. If they have a personal Gmail account already set up, they can choose to Add Account.

** Remember: ALL LAPTOPS MUST HAVE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE**

Connecting to the WLCSD wireless network on an iPad or other mobile device:

  1. Go to the Settings and then Wi-Fi
  2. Choose WLCS-Monitored
  3. Login browser will pop up and they will use their network login (Tell them this is what they would use if they were logging on to a computer lab in elementary)
  4. They should download the Chrome app. Open that and go to www.google.com log on to Google account.
