Megan Sidge, ASD teacher at Hickory Woods was selected as an Excellence in Education Award winner from the Michigan Lottery. She was also named the 2020 Educator of the Year by the Michigan Lottery.

Ellen McDonald, math/science instructional coach, was honored as a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2020.

Bob Marijanovich, SHAPE Michigan Elementary Teacher of the Year, Keith Elementary School.

Brad Scheck, SHAPE Michigan High School Teacher of the Year, Walled Lake Western High School.

Michelle Fiebke-Lang, former principal of Mary Helen Guest elementary school, and current Our Path coordinator, was named Region 7 Principal of the Year, by the Michigan Elementary & Middle School Principals Association.

Kevin Cousino, biology and Advanced Placement  Environmental Sciences teacher at Walled Lake Northern High School was selected as an Excellence in Education Award winner from the Michigan Lottery.

Mary Hulliberger, band teacher, WL Northern High School was selected as an Excellence in Education Award winner from the Michigan Lottery.

Jennifer Bond, Glengary teacher, received the Tech Using Teacher of the Year award at the annual conference for Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL).

Diane Kindervater, WL Northern, was selected as the Michigan Education Association Annual Region 7 Outstanding Education Support Professional of the Year award in 2020.

Bill Chatfield, director of operations, was elected as the first operations director to serve as the President of the Michigan Business Officials State Organization.

Sarah Dodds, My Path mentor was selected as an Excellence in Education Award from the Michigan Lottery.

Doug Bevier, Forensics coach, WL Western, was inducted into the Michigan Speech
Coaches, Inc. (MSCI) Hall of Fame in 2020.

Meagan Granberry, Guest third-grade teacher was selected as an Excellence in Education Award from the Michigan Lottery.

Andrea Novak, Guest Elementary teacher, has been awarded a Good Hart Artist Residency.

John Hester, Glengary and Keith Elementary, has been named the Librarian of the Year by the Michigan Association for Media in Education (MAME).

Bob Vogt, Glengary Elementary, has been named Physical Education Teacher of the Year in Michigan by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE).

Sheryl Matties, Sarah Banks teacher, and Trish Fletcher, Dublin para-educator, received the 2019 Outstanding Person in Education award (O.P.I.E.),

Neb Stojkovic, Walled Lake Central HS teacher and coach, was the second-place teacher in the country in the national Kelly & Michael Top Teacher Search.  Kelsey Prena, WL Central alumni, nominated Mr. Stojkovic who was the only Michigan teacher in the Top Teacher Search.

Dave Rogers, Walled Lake Central High  School Marching Band director and teacher, and the WL Central Marching Band were selected to participate in the 2015 Macy’s Day Parade in New York City. Chuck Morgan, Principal, Walled Lake Central High School: “I am immensely proud of and happy for our students and staff, that we will be able to share with the entire country, via the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, the accomplishments of our three-time State Championship Marching Band. The WL Central marching band could not be as successful without the wonderful support of the parent boosters, our outstanding district-wide music program, and the support of our entire school community.”

Marc Siegler, 20-year Walled Lake Consolidated School District Board of Education member, received the Dr. Seymour Gretchko Youth Advocate Award at the Greater West Bloomfield Annual Awards breakfast in 2014. Siegler was first appointed to the Walled Lake Schools Board of Education in 1994 and he has won five elections to continue to serve. His commitment to children and community and continuity of service is unsurpassed in the District.

Dr. Sheryl Kennedy, Geisler Middle School principal, was elected as a Michigan State Representative to serve in the 48th House District and served our state until January of 2020.

Stephanie Doppke, WLTV supervisor at Walled Lake Western High School, was nominated for the Media Educator of the Year by Specs Howard School of Media Arts.

Kristin White, Walled Lake Western High School assistant principal, was honored by DePaul University for the impact she made on a student’s life.  She will be featured in a video series about the teaching profession and she spoke at the Honors Convocation Ceremony at DePaul University in Chicago, Spring 2013.

Elaine Peterson, Walled Lake Adult Education teacher, received an award for her outstanding contribution to adult and community education from the Oakland County Community and Adult Education Educators Association.

Kristin Froning, principal Oakley Park, was named the PTSA Council’s Administrator of the Year for 2019-20.

Shannell Eastman and Ken Miller, Walled Lake Central High School teachers were honored by Lawrence Technological University for the positive impact they have on high school students.

Ami Friedman, Ph.D., science teacher, Walled Lake Western High School, was named Walled Lake Schools’ International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme Coordinator. She celebrated with the first 25 WL Western students who received their IB Diplomas in 2014.

Jennifer Hart, CI teacher, Walled Lake Central High School, received the 2010 Commitment to Excellence Award from the Down Syndrome Guild and was named the 2010-11 VFW Post 4156 Teacher or the Year.
