IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING TRANSPORTATION FOR                                            THE WEEK OF 1/17 THROUGH 1/21.

Dear WLCSD Families:

Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your well-deserved Winter Break and I look forward to another dynamic year of learning in our schools in 2022.

Over Winter Break, our partners at Dean Transportation were hard at work recruiting, hiring, and training new drivers for our District. Despite this progress,  we’ve been informed that our recent bus route cancellations will remain with us into the new year as new staff members are hired and trained. While we deeply regret the imposition this creates for our families, we acknowledge these cancellations are necessary to safely provide transportation services to as many of our WLCSD families as possible. 

Out of fairness to the families already impacted by previous weeks’ cancellations, we will be canceling different routes each week throughout the District to help share the burden this unfortunate situation creates. 

Starting the week of January 17-21, the following buses/routes will be cancelled:

· BUS 138 - Sarah Banks MS, Hickory Woods EL

· BUS 139 - WL Western HS, Walnut Creek MS, Meadowbrook EL

· BUS 141 - WL Central HS, Walnut Creek MS, MH Guest EL

· BUS 144 - WL Central HS, Geisler MS, Pleasant Lake EL

· BUS 148 - WL Central HS, Sarah Banks MS, Loon Lake EL

· BUS 159 - WL Northern HS, Clifford Smart MS, Commerce EL

· BUS 166 - WL Western HS, Geisler MS, Wixom EL

Please note, ALL students who have specialized transportation plans that are contained in an IEP will NOT see a disruption in service.

For those families impacted by these temporary cancellations who need childcare assistance, please contact our fee-based Prime Time Care office at 248-956-5110 for more information on availability.

Bus stop drop off times are earlier by the following:

High School:             3 hours and 25 minutes

Middle School:         3 hours and 20 minutes

Elementary School: 3 hours and 35 minutes
