For High School students - grades 9-12

*There are three options for taking a summer school class. The content and course requirements in each class option are the same. All classes are online. The difference among the options are 1) cost; 2) time allotted to finish the course; and 3) location.

Edgenuity High School Online Summer School, July 1 - July 31
no classes July 4 & July 5

  • 5 Weeks-$100.00 In District/$150.00 Out of District Students

  • M-F, 8-10:30 a.m.
  • Locations: Walled Lake Central High School, Walled Lake Northern High School,  Walled Lake Western High School 

Instructional Services Online Summer School, June 17- August 23

  • 10 Weeks-$150.00 WL Students Only

  • Location: Students will work from home. Students need access to a computer, the internet and a personal email.
  • Students have 24-hour access to the class. Their online teacher is available to answer student questions M-F from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Instructional Services Online Summer School, June 17- October 18

  • 18 Weeks-$225.00 WL Students Only

  • Location: Students will work from home. Students need access to a computer, the internet and a personal email.
  • Students have 24-hour access to the class. Their online teacher is available to answer student questions M-F from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Young Americans Summer Camp, August 13-17

  • T-F, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sat. 2:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. (performance date)
  • Location: Walled Lake Northern High School (6000 Bogie Lake Road
    Commerce Township)
  • Cost: $219. You can pay the full amount or sign-up for a payment plan during the registration process. Save $15 per camper when you sign up more than 1 camper on the same registration.

This high energy, comprehensive performing arts summer camp includes instruction, classes, and workshops in voice, dance, comedy improvisation, songwriting, performance techniques, sound, and lighting. Participants are divided into three age groups to learn age specific material. By learning a show in just 5 days, students are able to learn teamwork, discover their individual potential, and walk away with a huge sense of accomplishment at the end of the week, all in an encouraging and positive atmosphere that The Young Americans foster and provide.

For Elementary Students:

Visual Arts Summer Camp, June 17-21

  • M-F, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Location: Clifford Smart Middle School (8500 Commerce Road, Commerce Twp.)
  • Art Camp is one full week (Monday through Friday) of high-intensity, engaging lessons that incorporate new materials in new ways (or old materials in new ways!), all while strengthening students' problem solving, teamwork, organization and time management skills. 2D and 3D lessons are taught, including (but not limited to) drawing, painting, sculpture and technology.
  • Only 4th and 5th grade students that have been nominated by their Walled Lake Art Teacher are allowed to participate.

Creating Music Camp, June 17-27

  • M-F,  9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Location: Mary Helen Guest Elementary (1655 Decker Road, Walled Lake)
  • Description: This camp provides students with enrichment opportunities in the areas of creating and improvising music with voices, instruments and iPads.
  • Daily Attendance is MANDATORY
  • Only 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students that have been nominated by their Walled Lake Music Teacher are allowed to participate.

Performing Music Camp, June 17-27

  • M-F, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Location: Walnut Creek Middle School (7601 Walnut Lake, West Bloomfield)
  • Description: This camp provides students with enrichment opportunities in the areas of part singing, playing percussion instruments, and movement.
  • Daily Attendance is MANDATORY
  • Only 4th and 5th grade students that have been nominated by their Walled Lake Music Teacher are allowed to participate.
