For Keith Elementary Parents
Keith Family Handbook
The purpose of our Family Handbook is to provide important information to our school community. We hope that both new and current families will find this information valuable.
We encourage you to go over the contents of this handbook prior to the start of the school year and periodically throughout the year. As appropriate, please talk with your child about relevant sections. We all play an important role in making our school a special place to learn and grow.
In addition to our Keith Family Handbook, all families are expected to read the Walled Lake School District Student Code of Conduct and Transportation Handbook. Parents acknowledge that they have read and agree to these handbooks during the online registration process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the main office. We are always available to answer any questions you may have.

Kindergarten Enrollment
Please visit our Keith Welcome Kindergarten Families 2022-2023 Newsletter for additional information that is specific to Keith Elementary School.
Please visit our district page for further information regarding Kindergarten Enrollment. Please visit our virtual Kindergarten Orientation presentation (coming soon!) and begin the enrollment process today!
Enrollment Information Hotline: 248-956-5250. Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions on visitors and volunteers, we cannot offer building tours at this time.
Kindergarten students need to be age 5 by September 1 of the school year in which you are enrolling. If your child will not be 5 by Sept 1 (but will be 5 by December 1), you will need to contact the district to complete a waiver to enroll your child in Kindergarten. If you are unsure about your child's readiness, please review this chart of Kindergarten readiness skills and be sure to view the district website for orientation information.
All students enrolling in Kindergarten must have a vision screening completed between the ages of 3-5, prior to entering Kindergarten. Free vision screening, by appointment, is available to Oakland County residents at two Health Division offices and at the Walled Lake Community Education Center. Please call 248-424-7070 to set an appointment for your child.
