I would like to welcome you to Walled Lake Elementary!
We are located in the heart of Walled Lake, Michigan. Our elementary building serves approximately 400 students in Preschool through Fifth Grade. Our school is diverse, representing 37 different cultures and languages from around the world.
We have a team of classroom teachers who work in collaboration to provide engaged learning using research-based instructional design. In addition, we are able to provide academic, behavioral and social-emotional support for students. We are staffed with many support staff including a Social Worker, School Psychologist, Speech & Language Pathologist, Teacher Consultant, Resource Room teachers, Reading Recovery teacher, English Learner teacher, and paraeducator. You will quickly learn what an amazing school community we have here. Our teachers and staff are top-notch and ready to lead our students to high levels of learning.
In addition, we host a Head Start, a tuition-free preschool for eligible three-year-olds, and Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), a tuition-free preschool for eligible four-year-olds. Our district also has a preschool program in other elementary school locations.
Our school is also identified as a Title I Targeted Assistance building. Approximately 40% of our students are eligible for free and reduced lunch. As a result, our school receives additional funding to provide educational services designed to increase student achievement. We provide Reading intervention through our Reading Recovery teacher, small Literacy Groups, and Interventionist groups. In addition, we partner with local businesses and organizations to help support the needs of our students and families.
As a staff, we are committed to making sure ALL students achieve high levels of learning. If you have any questions, concerns, or compliments, we are just an email, office visit or phone call away.
I thank you for sending your children to Walled Lake Elementary. From the moment you enter our doors, you become part of the Walled Lake Elementary family. Our staff is ready for the important responsibility to care for your child's academic, social, and emotional needs. We are ready to encourage, educate, and love your children. It is going to be an AMAZING year!
