Principal's Welcome

Dear Walled Lake Western Learning Community, 

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to Walled Lake Western High School.  As I have interacted with many students in our learning community, I am impressed with their energy, vibrancy, dedication, character, excitement, humor, and Warrior pride. 

Western is a welcoming environment where we believe a successful educational experience for all students is not possible without the partnership of parents, students, and staff.  We value the home/school connection and believe it is in the best interest of our students that we have open communication.  Our student body is eclectic in many ways, especially in regards to culture and diversity.  Our student leadership infuses service learning opportunities through long-standing traditions such as Warriors for Warriors, Volleyball Marathon, and UMatter Week.

We have a variety of academic pathways to meet the needs of our diverse learning community.  Some of the opportunities include: a prestigious IB Diploma Programme, extensive AP course offerings, and a partnership with OTSC, which offers vocational focused programs beyond our own Marketing, Engineering, and IT courses.

Please encourage your student(s) to get involved in extracurricular activities and other engagement opportunities at Western.  We have extensive clubs and extracurricular opportunities which includes, but is not limited to, our award winning Robotics team and Forensics program. Western also prides itself on a phenomenal fine and performing arts program and excellence in athletics.

In my experience as a parent and an educator, students who are connected to their school feel a greater sense of community and enjoy coming to school. I want Western to be the best school for ALL students.
